(510) Family Faves: Yapita Yum!

Thank you to Kelly and Hannah, the ladies behind Yapita fresh, tasty, and LOCAL baby food. They shared some of their favorite places to take children in the (510).

Favorite day trip: Packing a picnic and heading to Sausalito’s Schoonmaker Point Marina for a great beach without the strong tides. This beach is known to local Marin families as “Kayak Beach”, but we love to put the kids on stand-up paddle boards and paddle around the bay looking for harbor seals and other wildlife.

Best birthday party I’ve been to with kids: A full morning party on a beautiful spring day at Lake Temescal complete with catering from Top Dog, a magician, extravagant balloon animals, tie-dye/arts and crafts stations, and an array of sports equipment. Not only was the party fun for all, but it made for great afternoon naps.

Favorite Restaurant to eat as a family: Miam Miam. Everyone is happy and quiet. Frozen Yogurt is a food group, right?

Cactus or Picante? Kelly loves the Margaritas at Picante and the tomatillo salsa at Cactus. Hannah likes the new table delivery system at Picante. She’s been known to irritate the staff by making it flash prematurely :)

Favorite rainy day hideout: MOCHA, the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland, offers painting, playing play-doh, and making projects with no worries of making messes or cleaning up!

Picture provided by Yapita, yes those are their uniforms. Kelly is in green and Hannah is in blue. We were excited to learn about Yapita when they started advertising on 510families.com. Yapita makes organic, real food purees for babies delivered to your home from a kitchen in Emeryville. They focus on the healthy ingredients you would use to make fresh baby food, if only you could find the time. It sounds really cool and when my new bambino is ready in several months, I hope to give them a try.
