Buy yummy food to help BUSD’s cooking + gardening program

Berkeley Unified School District (BUSD) is in jeopardy of losing their pre-K through high school gardening and cooking programs as of October 1st. Many concerned parents and businesses are fighting back. And you can help, too. By eating good food.

This upcoming Wednesday May 22nd, Whole Foods Market Berkeley will be donating 5% of Net store sales to Berkeley school garden and cooking programs. Stock up on big ticket items like vitamins, fish, and wine because 5% of the money they spend will go directly to our schools.

Berkeley dine out for kids

Next Thursday May 30th, participating Berkeley restaurants are teaming up to donate a percentage of proceeds to BUSD through the Berkeley Dine Out program. The Elmwood Cafe is donating 100% of proceeds from 5pm to 10pm. Wow.. Contact Berkeley Dine Out for more info. (510) 644-7721

Thanks for posting this to help support our schools! I didn’t know about the added Whole Foods donation. I’ll be sure to stop by that day! I already have my reservations for Comal on the 30th! Yay :-)
