A troop of soon-to-be Brownies in Berkeley are the co-authors of this post. At a September meeting , the second graders were asked to recommend a fun place to go with kids in the East Bay. They wrote their responses on index cards and submitted them to us to publish.

Genki is my favorite restaurant because the food is good.

I like Thousand Oaks, which is also known as T.O. It is a school that over 450 kids go to. It is open at all times except for the school day. T.O. is on Colusa Avenue.

I like to go ice skating at Oakland Ice. It is very fun.

I like James Kenney because it is fun. There are two playgrounds. One is for the toddlers, one is for the big kids.

I like to go to Lake Anza because you can swim with ducks.

The Berkeley Animal Shelter is my favorite place because you can see cute animals and hopefully adopt a poor animal. If you have a child older than the age of nine, they can get trained to take care of animals.

Rosa Parks Elementary School is my favorite place because it is really fun and it has two playgrounds.
