East Bay soccer classes for preschoolers

Just days after I signed my daughter up for her first session of soccer classes, I received notice in the mail about another soccer option for 3-5 year olds. Since folks seem to be interested, I thought I’d post a few useful links here. Sadly the preschool soccer programs we covered last year are outdated.

Soccer Shots – This nationwide franchise offers classes through daycares and preschools around the East Bay as well as at parks, where the program is open to the public. Berkeley park locations include Cedar Rose Park, Codornices Park, San Pablo Park, and Willard Park. In Oakland, the 40-minute classes are at Eastshore Park. Some classes start as young as 2 years old (30-minute class). Eight-week sessions for all ages are $98. See all class options here >

Soccer Basics – These 3-week sessions are offered to 4- and 5-year olds via the Mersey Soccer Club. A new session of “Saturday Step One” starts each month at the King Middle School track on Hopkins Street in Berkeley. Three one-hour classes is $42 plus a (crazy high) online processing fee. (You’ve been warned.) Get the details here >

Lil Kickers – Another nationwide program, the East Bay location of this soccer school is at the Bladium in Alameda. Their website currently advertises a free trial class for your child. Mid-week and weekend classes are on the schedule and the program begins as young as 18 months. Join the program anytime during the session, and fees will be pro-rated. More details >
