Have you been to the Alameda Flea Market?

Alameda Flea Market with kids

The Alameda Point Antiques Faire is held on the first Sunday of each month at the former naval air station (so the next one is this Sunday, July 1st).

It is the largest antiques show in Northern California, claiming over 800 dealer booths. All items are 20 years old or older — except the food, of course — which means you’ll see vintage items from your own childhood intermingled with artistic statues and dusty fabrics.

Expect miles of wandering with very little shade, but lots to look at for a little one. No pets or smoking, free parking, nasty toilets.

Admission prices are on a sliding scale to give the hard core thrifters a penalty. Arrive later and pay less. The tradeoff is that you’ll also have to park in the boonies.
6:00 AM to 7:30 am $15.00
7:30 am to 9:00 am $10.00
9:00 am to 2:00 pm $ 5.00
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Free!

Kids under 15 are FREE.

Bring water and a healthy snack or two. A stroller is handy to carry your discoveries.
