Canceled for 2022: Lake Merritt Water Sleighs and Caroling

The Lake Merritt Water Sleighs and Caroling event is canceled again for 2022, but you can still take out a boat and sing songs with your family if you’d like.

A wonderful holiday outing is coming to an urban lake near you and tickets are already selling fast! Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from Dec. 5 until Dec. 24, families can ride a “water sleigh” on Lake Merritt for a special holiday treat. Rides are $8 per person or groups can charter a sleigh for $120 and bring up to 19 people, leaving between 3pm and 8pm (or 4pm on weekdays).

Tours depart from the Lake Merritt Boating Center and include hot cider and cookies in the Holiday Room before boarding. A tour in the dark will allow you to enjoy the lights of Lake Merritt and be a part of it by riding on a lit-up watercraft.

20 minutes is spent enjoying the treats in the Holiday Room and 40 minutes is on the water.
