Imaginate at Lawrence Hall of Science

The latest exhibit at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley — the one that finally kicked the dinosaurs out of the building — is a winner with the maker faire set. My four- and six-year old had a blast futzing with gears, making stop-action movies, assembling kinetic sculpture, racing custom vehicles, stomping on projected images on the floor, and flapping in wings. The large exhibit hall in the back was stuffed with hands-on experiments and stations that work for toddlers on up. My husband was also highly engaged.

Per the LHS website:

Innovation happens when we collaborate and cross between disciplines and subjects. In Imaginate dream big, expect the unexpected, collaborate and compete, try, try and try again, and look into the world of imagination and innovation.

Imaginate was designed and built by the Ontario Science Centre, Ontario, Canada.
