You may have noticed the ad tiles in our sidebar this month are from UrbanSitter, a new service for finding trusted babysitters. They are our sponsor this month, and in addition to the advertisements you see, with their help, we’re also putting together a special event for 510 moms. (More details coming next week!)
Back to finding those babysitters. And what does trusted mean?
UrbanSitter is kind of like Open Table for babysitters. After signing in and connecting UrbanSitter with your Facebook account, you select a date and time for which you need a sitter. The available sitters will be presented to you in order by how closely affiliated with them you are. For example, if your Facebook friends have used the sitter, they’ll show up first. If someone from your preschool or child’s gymnastics studio has used the sitter, that’s another reason for her to appear high up on your list.

The majority of the sitters are college students and they manage their schedules on the UrbanSitter system so that their availability is up to date.
Thanks so much to UrbanSitter for working with us. We hope our readers enjoy learning about the service!
