Now Open: Tilden Park’s Miniature Trains

The Golden Gate Miniature Railroad miniature trains in Tilden Park are rolling again! They typically run each Sunday noon to 3 pm just down the hill from the regular Tilden Park Steam Train. If you follow the path of the Tilden Park Steam Trains down the hill past the engine, you will be rewarded with a treasure trove of goodies for the miniature train enthusiast (and by that I mean either “lover of small trains” or “small train lover”).

These Golden Gate Live Steamers open their tracks to the public for rides on Sundays when the weather permits. It’s super fun. Fees are by suggested donation.

Immediately after this photo was taken, my barely 3-year-old was moved behind me to rebalance the load, so I was a little nervous the whole time. Babies in arms are not allowed. Otherwise, super fun!

There is an adjacent souvenir stand with train tchotchkes and the story of the miniature railroad.
