Did you know that all the celebs get their kids’ profiles memorialized with cut paper silhouettes by artist Karl Johnson? I read it on his website:
What do celebrities Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, Hilary Duff and Drew Barrymore all have in common? They have all had their silhouettes created by Karl!
This Friday, Karl will be taking appointments at Mr. Mopps in Berkeley. On Saturday, you’ll find him at Monkey Bars in Alameda.
Each Silhouette is cut out entirely freehand. Karl simply looks at the subject’s profile (whether in person or from a photograph) and starts cutting their exact likeness out of black paper. Every Silhouette is an original, one of a kind work of art, signed by the artist.
The price per portrait is $25 and your child will be sitting under five minutes. Have duplicates made for $15 each. What you’ll receive: a black silhouette cut out to frame as you wish. Select frames will be available for purchase.
