Sunday Streets Berkeley is back and bigger than ever — well, more often, anyway! Save the date for three different Sundays of family-friendly, car-free fun. Starting at Telegraph Avenue from Dwight to Bancroft on June 2nd, followed by North Shattuck on June 9th, then the finale in Downtown Berkeley on July 14. Bikes, scooters, strollers, and wagons are welcome, as are pedestrians. Check back to learn more about the offerings and routes as it becomes available.
Local vendors will line the edges of the street offering food, information, and experiences all in the name of building community. Restaurants will open their doors (and hopefully their bathroom doors) many offering special snack options or patio seating where there isn’t normally any.
Look for face painting, juggling shows, arts & crafts, and live music. Kids will be able to play giant chess games, hula hoop, climb, and draw with chalk in the street, among other amusements.
Sunday Streets is a great family outing. Stay as long or short as you like, bring your own food or eat at a restaurant, and walk right down the middle of the road, worry-free. See you there!
