Ticket Alert: Emil of Lonneberga

On December 10, a new production from the Bay Area Children’s Theatre will open at Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in downtown Berkeley.

Once you meet Emil you’ll never forget him. Puppets add to the delight of this laugh-filled world premiere about a clever, five-year-old Swedish lad who just can’t keep out of trouble. Bay Area Children’s Theatre is thrilled to bring the beloved Emil stories by the author of Pippi Longstocking to the English-speaking stage.

Buy tickets here a day or more in advance of showings, or at the door.

We just saw this play over the weekend. It was a lot of fun. Yes, Emil is mischievous but never malicious and nothing that made my kids want to go to school calling their teachers idiots or anything. I think my sons were a little confused by the puppets at first.
