Weekend Planner (December 8 + 9)

  1. Prepare a wreath or centerpiece that you created from scratch at Hackermoms. (RSVP to snag low-cost child care!)
  2. Family time at the zoo and a chance to meet Santa on the same day is more than a possibility!
  3. Family story times aplenty: Oakland’s Rockridge and Lakeview plus Berkeley’s Central branches.
  4. Ditch the shopping and find the mobile food trucks at Alameda’s Off the Grid.
  5. Tot-friendly, winter-themed activities await at Live Oak on Saturday.
  6. Shopping and kids can mix quite well at the Sticky Art Lab – “ArtZone” for them, vendors and crafting for you!
  7. The question isn’t whether to see The Nutcracker: it’s whether you want to see it via puppets or human ballerinas. Or both. Your pick.
  8. Mrs. Claus will be in and Santa will not for a crafty family party at Hackermoms.
  9. Community Hanukah celebration with crafts and storytelling and a shoe drive for the needy – what better for this time of year?
  10. The Dunsmuir Hellman mansion will be rather festive and *busy* the next two weekends, so you may want to check it out!
  11. BONUS: Snow day was postponed to this Sunday! Another chance for snow play in the Gourmet Ghetto!
