- Oakland Indie Scavenger Hunt. Update 7/3/15: This event has been cancelled.
Brought to us by the folks behind Oakland Grown and the Sustainable Business Alliance, this all-day adventure will take teams through a walkable chunk of Oakland where they will use their smart phones to document items on a list and collect treasures along the way. (Pose on an AC Transit bus; help a stranger fold clothes at a laundromat; get a complimentary honey stick from Hive coffeeshop) It sounds super fun and you can buy tickets here. Participants get food and drinks from local vendors to fuel their pursuit of a victory with a party at the end. Kids are welcome, and the first hunt takes place in the Dimond District on July 11 from 9 to 3. (Use code 510Families to save $10 on any ticket.)
- Outdoor movies in Montclair Village. Presented by Red Oak Realty, these shows will be free to the public. Bring low chairs and blankets. Big Hero 6 will be offered on July 18.
