Alison Faith Levy is a musician well known in the kindie-rock scene (gosh, I bet she hates that clever name as much as I loathe being called a “Mommy Blogger”, huh?). She is the parent of a eleven-year old son living in San Francisco. Since her work takes her to gigs all over the Bay Area, she was happy to share a few favorite spots on our side of the Bay Bridge. Thanks Alison!
Fave birthday party venue: We had a birthday party for our son at Chabot Space & Science Center, which was a blast! (no pun intended). They do a great job with party planning, have nice big party rooms, and the kids get to spend the whole day exploring the museum. In addition, for older kids and adults you can book a special “Space MIssion”, where the guests go into a simulated space station environment and are instructed by NASA to complete an important mission, with everyone assigned special tasks and duties. It’s very exciting and realistic, super fun and scientific.
Fave playground: We have always loved Children’s Fairyland, and made many special trips there when our son was little. Although not technically a playground, and our son has since outgrown it (he’s now a ripe old 11 years old!), it is by far the most magical place in the whole Bay Area to bring young kids!
Fave toy store: The Ark – Fourth Street, Berkeley.
Fave family dinner out: We love the peanut butter pizza at Spettro in Oakland, yum.
Make sure to join us this weekend at the Ashkenaz Soggy Sundays finale and win free tickets for the show.
