{510} Family Faves from the Alphabet Rockers

The Alphabet Rockers, Kaitlin McGaw, Stefanie Liang, and Tommy Shepherd, are one of my favorite kids rock bands. I received their self-titled first cd, Alphabet Rockers, when I had one wily preschooler and one nutty toddler, and I enjoyed the upbeat educational hip hop music as much as they did. I told Kaitlin that every song is a house favorite except the Clean It Up songs. Go figure.

I asked the Alphabet Rockers to share their East Bay favorites and this is what they told me:

What’s a favorite date night for you?
Definitely Fusebox in West Oakland for dinner then the The People Party at New Parrish for live music!

Where’s the best birthday party you’ve been to?
Aqua Adventure Waterpark in Fremont; party guests receive park admission, food, and even sunscreen. The birthday kid receives a gift of a return ticket.

What’s a perfect Saturday morning?
Most definitely the Lake Merritt Farmer’s Market.

What’s the best advice you received when you were a rookie parent that you want to share with others?
Play with your kids at the playground!

The Rockers are very busy these days supporting their new cd, Back to School; touring the Bay Area and beyond; and even doing a kickstarter project to fund a TV show!

See them at the Family Block Party for Father’s Day.
