IÂ have known Jackie and her twin sister since IÂ was about 12 years old. We went to the same public schools in Los Angeles way back then, and when I saw her pushing a stroller across Fourth Street in Berkeley some fifteen years after high school, we reconnected.
Jackie maintains a beautiful blog about her crafty projects and her two young sons. Her house is pure eye candy, thanks to her own ability to edit and curate and her husband’s background as a contractor. I even love their front door.
IÂ asked her to share a few local picks with 510Families.com readers. Here’s what she said:
Favorite East Bay outing with the boys: Edible Schoolyard at King Middle School
Favorite restaurant to eat as a family: Ikea! Just kidding, but the 99-cent frozen yogurt is a big hit.
Favorite playground: La Loma Park – gorgeous view, terraced which is good for different ages, high-quality play structures, generally not too crowded.
Recommended day trip: Lately we’ve been into China Camp and a few different beaches in Richmond that have lots of driftwood, rocks, and shells for the kids to collect and create with. My husband  is usually in charge of these outings and he is the king of finding off-the-beaten-path spots.
