KICK OFF MOON MONTH WITH LUNAR FIRST FRIDAY!
Catch a glimpse of the new moon rock, brought back from the Apollo 16 mission and learn all about the moon through hands on activities and the New Planetarium show, Lunaverse. Explore its motion and phases, lunar and solar eclipses, tides, and the Moon’s origin. Watch the preview of the new PBS series Chasing the Moon before it airs, and chat with Astronomer and KQED Science Researcher, Ben Burress after the show!
Each $5 First Friday at Chabot is an exciting and immersive experience for all ages! Join each month for hands-on activities and live demonstrations that are fun for the whole family. Each month there will be new things to explore!
Some activities have limited capacity and are first come, first served. $5 admission begins at 6pm, and does not apply from 10am-5pm. The Center is closed to the general public between 5-6pm (with the exceptions of current CSSC members) and reopens at 6pm for $5 First Friday.
With a new exhibit, Full Moon Adult Hike and Sip, Lunar First Friday and multiple celebrations around 50th Anniversary on July 20, there is something for everyone this Moon Month!
