The 6th Annual African Arts Festival celebrates the glorious diversity and extraordinary creativity of the continent’s peoples. Co-presented by Duniya Dance and Drum Company and the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, it’s a free, family-friendly celebration of live music and dance featuring Bay Area ensembles representing different regions of Africa and the African diaspora.
Now in its sixth year, the festival has grown into one of the Bay Area’s most joyful community gatherings. Co-presented with the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, it brings together Bay Area ensembles representing different regions of Africa and the African diaspora for a full afternoon of live music and dance performances.
For families specifically, there’s plenty to do — interactive drum and dance lessons, face-painting for kids, and vendors offering traditional African food, clothing, jewelry, and more. Best of all, admission is completely free.
