The Albany Move’n’Groove combines live music, fitness, and community spirit in Albany, California. Walk, run, roller skate, compete as a para athlete, push a stroller, or just hang out & enjoy the multiple live bands stationed around the high school & park. Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome to join the fun!
Registration is only required for participants in the 5K or the kids race. The live music is free for all attendees! The kids-only race is a 0.5 mile loop around the park for kids age 10 and under and takes place at 9:45AM, and the main 5K (6-loop course) at 10AM. Highlights for 2025: Same low registration fee for the 5K as last year. Picnic returns as a food vendor. Kids race at 9:45am, main 5K at 10am. Morning bands play from 10am–Noon. Costume contest & prizes! Afternoon band plays in the park till 2pm. Recreational skating around the park after the 5K.
Move’n’Groove participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume! Whether your costume is silly or original or clever, dress up to add to the fun and enter a costume contest to win Solano Avenue Associate gift card prizes! Prizes will be offered for three categories:
Best Individual Costume in the 5K
Best Individual Costume in the kids race (10 and under)
Best Team Costume (4 or more team members, either event)
