Amazing Women #3 Virtual Book Launch for Children

Join the third in the Amazing Women series. This time, children’s author Meera Sriram (Berkeley) and artist Ruchi Baksi Sharma (Mumbai, India) discuss their newest picture book, Between Two Worlds: The Art & Life of Amrita Sher-Gil. Meera and Ruchi will talk about the famous artist and their own creative processes as they launch the book on SEP 21, at 5 pm. Come & help celebrate! This event is hosted by Mrs. Dalloway’s bookstore in Berkeley.

The book is recommended for ages 6-11. Pre-register to save a spot!

About the book and artist: Amrita Sher-Gil was always making art—as a little girl in Budapest, as a young woman in Northern India, and as an art student in Paris, she filled up notebooks with sketches and drawings—but what kind of artist would she grow up to be? Amrita was rebellious, brave, curious, and bold in her short life and in her paintings, and she became an important figure in the 20th-century modern art movement.

The book launch and discussion are free but you’ll also want to pre-order a copy of the book (not free!)
