Cuauhtli Mitotiani Mexica Performance

Celebrate Latinx & Hispanic Heritage Month at the North Branch lawn for a 30 minute presentation and performance by Cuauhtli Mitotiani Mexica. Weather permitting. Bring a blanket or mat to sit on during this outdoor event.

Founded in 1994, Cuauhtli Mitotiani Mexica is the RISE Danza program which provides native youth with the support for positive self-identity and healthy lifestyles through ancient cultural teachings. The activities include dancing, singing, drumming, Nahuatl language, ceremonies, presentations and exchange with other indigenous youth nationally and internationally. RISE offers academic support and college preparation programs for low-income At-Promise Youth who will be attending Berkeley High Schools.
