Dia de Los Muertos is an annual Mexican celebration where people come together to remember friends and family who have died. From October 31st through November 2nd, the spirits of the dead are guided by marigold flowers to visit the alters, or ofrendas, their loved ones set up for them.
In this free library program, you will be making marigold Flores de papel, or tissue paper flowers, which are a traditional decoration for parties, weddings, and religious celebrations in Mexico and many other parts of Latin America.
This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the El Cerrito Library.
