Family Friday Off the Grid with Try it Truck

Going beyond the usual food truck delights at Off the Grid, the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is rolling up to Off the Grid with its “Try It Truck” for a very special Family Friday at Fort Mason Center. Activities will include:

  • Up, Up, and Away: Kids build their own “flying machines” that can withstand a wind tunnel for 5 seconds or make a “ship” to fly an alien home.
  • Take-It-Apart: Take apart e-waste (old keyboards, laptops, radios, etc.) and learn what’s inside of these everyday objects.
  • Ramp Testing: Test different types of cars to see what flies highest, drives fastest, or goes farthest.
  • Hexbug Mazes: Build mazes for Hexbugs (small, vibrating bug toys) to navigate through using Keva blocks and Joinks!
  • Imagination Playground: Use large-scale building sets to make creative and innovative designs.
