Get ready for your first day back to school by feeling and looking your best.
FREE Back to School Haircut and Hair Braiding Community Event at the Martin Luther King Jr. Branch.
This community event is designed to support local families by making back-to-school preparation a little easier while creating a welcoming space where every young person is treated with care.
Hair Cuts: Professional barbers will provide free haircuts for students and youth, helping them look and feel their best for the first day of school.
Haircuts will be provided from 12:00 pm -4:00 pm on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early.
Hosted by So Fresh City, a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting communities through free haircuts, hygiene services, and advocacy.
Hair Braiding: backBraiders will provide complimentary braided hairstyles to help students look and feel their best as they head back to the classroom. Braiding services will be provided from 1:00 pm -5:00 pm. on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive with hair freshly washed and detangled. Participants should also bring braiding hair and their own comb.
