Hanukkah Mitzvah Night for Families with Young Children (RSVP)

Come join for the first night of Hanukkah to celebrate the Festival of Light and observe the mitzvah of giving back to the community. The special guest, storyteller Diana Shmiana, will entertain with the “Mystery of the Missing Candles”. With the help of a wacky cast of characters, Diana Shmiana will embark on a singing, dancing, storytelling quest for her missing Hanukkah candles.

Bring your menorah and candles to light with other families, eat a festive meal featuring latkes and sufganiyot, and then participate in a mitzvah project gift card drive to support the Tri-Valley Haven. Hanukkah origami for the older kids available.

For the mitzvah project, families are asked to bring gift cards from the following locations: Safeway, Target, Wal-Mart, Luckys. Decorated envelopes and the gift cards will be donated to Tri-Valley Haven to help families in need.

It is made possible by the generous support of the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center.

RSVP online by Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 pm to help the event hosts prepare for a great night with plenty of food.
