Hike to see Ladybugs - 510 Families

Hike to see Ladybugs

Join Chrysalis Girls Adventures for a free friends & family hike in the redwoods with LADYBUGS!!! (By the hundreds, even thousands!) These fun little creatures will be waking up from hibernation at this time, and they’re an amazing sight to behold.

Meeting Location: Canyon Meadows Staging Area in Reinhart Redwood Regional Park, Oakland (https://maps.app.goo.gl/bzAkwjAhAzHSL9jd8)

Route: The group will hike along the Steam Trail towards the Prince Trail, stopping along the way for fun nature appreciation/exploring. 🙂 It’s a relatively flat, out-and-back hike, with the first 3/4 mile paved. You can turn around at the end of the path and make it an easy 1.5 mile hike in the redwoods (likely seeing a few ladybugs), OR continue to the Prince Trail – often the ladybug “mecca” – and join us for a round-trip hike of approx. 3 miles.

Bring: Good walking/hiking shoes that can get dirty/muddy, Full water bottle, Lunch/snacks, Warm layers, Rain layers, Hat, Phone/camera for capturing the experience!

Chrysalis Girls Adventures is a non-profit project in the Bay Area, empowering girls with confidence, courage, and compassion through outdoor adventure. Advanced registration is not required.  Not a drop-off activity; an adult needs to attend with their child/children.
