LGBTQ+ Family Pride Celebration with the Oakland Public Library

This summer, as part of the virtual Kids' Summer Reading Program, OPL will celebrate a different theme each week. This week they are celebrating Pride with a LGBTQ+ Family virtual party online! The schedule:

10:30am: Storytime on Youtube with children's librarians and drag queen Persia.
1:00pm: Livestreamed program from Queer Kid Stuff that you can enjoy on our Facebook page: Raise your rainbow flag and join Lindz and Teddy for songs and stories!
3:00pm: Join Dimond children's librarian Miriam on Youtube for a story about Stonewall.

They will also be posting a reading list and a resource list—check our Children's Services Blog for that and other exciting activities.

Don't forget to sign up for OPL Kids' Summer Reading. Kids who participate weekly by reading or by completing activities during the Summer can choose a free prize book and are eligible to win other prizes. Books and prizes will be distributed when we reopen. Register online or download and print a reading log by clicking on the “Kids” link at
