Schedule of Events
9:30am – 10am: Lunar New Year Celebration – Red Envelope Giveaway
The first 20 IKEA Family members who visit IKEA Emeryville on 2/8 at the store entrance will get a free red envelope from us. Red envelopes symbolize good luck and will bring good fortune to the new year. The prize includes small giveaways from IKEA and the luckiest person can win a gift card.
*Must be present IKEA Family card or proof of IKEA Family.
9:45am – 11am: Kids Craft
Create your year of the Snake decoration art in IKEA Emeryville. They’ll provide all the materials you need. Just bring your creativity and prepare to make something unique for your Lunar New Year celebration! Please visit IKEA Swedish Restaurant upon arrival. Children who attended this event must be trained to work with scissors and glue. Limit: 2 children available per IKEA Family member registration. While supplies last.
12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lion Dance
Join Ikea in celebrating the Lunar New Year with a traditional Lion Dance! Visit the self-serve and exit area for music and dancing to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This will be a fun and interactive activity for the whole family!
1:30pm -2pm: Lunar New Year Celebration – Tea Sampling
Taste IKEA’s new black tea and explore a beautiful tea set-up display in the Swedish Food Market.
The first sampling session will be hosted at 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
The second sampling session will be hosted at 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM
