The Park District celebrates a Day of Service that continues Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of solidarity, improving lives, bridging social barriers and move our country closer together. People from all walks of life are encouraged to work mutually in bringing a better community.
East Bay Regional Park District needs YOU! Volunteers will help restore the shoreline by cleaning and removing invasive plants in order to support and care for wildlife and their natural habitat. Your efforts will benefit the environment and the community.
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and closed-toed shoes. To cut down on the use of plastic, please bring a refillable water bottle and a bucket to pick up litter.
Children are welcome to participate, but ask that those under 16 years of age to be accompanied by one chaperone for every 20 kids.
The Shoreline Cleanup will be at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline and Point Pinole Regional Shoreline (5551 Giant Highway, Richmond, CA, follow signs to meet at the Palms Picnic Site)
Point Pinole activities include:
1. Work in native nectar and pollinator plant habitat garden.
2. Habitat Restoration/remove invasive species
3. Shoreline Cleanup
