Join on the Richmond Greenway, and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service with friends, family, and neighbors. Be a part of this annual festive and inspirational event.
From 9 am – 12 pm, volunteer projects will be held at sites near Unity Park on the Richmond Greenway (at the intersection of 16th St and Ohio Ave), including weeding and trash removal. Gloves, tools, and water are provided but feel free to bring your own. Please bring your own reusable water bottle if possible. Wear sturdy closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Parking near the park is limited: recommend parking on 20th St. near the Greenway and walking to Unity Park.
Space is limited; groups must preregister. To participate, all participants must sign a waiver.
- Children are welcome, but MUST be accompanied by an adult and those under 18 require a waiver signed by a legal guardian.
- Valid for Community Service hours.
- Heavy rain cancels. If it is rainy, it is a great opportunity to see the low impact design (bioswales and rain gardens) in action
Why RSVP for a free event? It helps organizing team plan for the event, and ensures they will bring enough supplies (gloves, buckets, bags, etc.) and staff to make the event as successful as possible. Thank you for helping out!
