Model Train Show

SATURDAY/SUNDAY – Sept 19 & 20, 2026 – (11:00AM – 6:00PM)
Join Walnut Creek Model RR Society for their “Weekend Open House and Train Show”. Their permanent H.O. scale layout is one of the most mountainous in the United States, with over 4,400 feet of track covering an area of 1,900 square feet and climbing to an elevation of four feet. Their members operate many unique freight and passenger trains from days past when steam was king.
Visit the towns of “Port Allen”, with its busy seaport, naval ships and operating bascule bridge; “Mallard” where, in days long past, the ferry “Ramon” would convey trains of the Sacramento-Northern across the Strait; “Diablo” to view the expansive freight sorting “hump” yard; “Olympia” to view operations of the electric trolley system as it travels through the city; and “Thompson Flat” and view the narrow gauge railway as it ascends to the alpine cog railway and aerial gondola. They are located in Larkey Park opposite the swimming pool and within a short walk of the Lindsay Wildlife Experience.

Can’t make it this weekend? The next “Weekend Shows” are on Nov. 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29. They are, also, open to the public every LAST Friday night of the month from 8pm-10pm.
