Much Ado About Nothing – Free Shakespeare in the Park

NOTE: This date/event is in the past. Keep browsing.

Actors Ensemble presents the first of two productions for THE Summer 2024 season in the beautiful John Hinkel Park Amphitheatre, Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”, in a modern-dress adaptation by Glenn Havlan and Gaby Schneider and directed by Glenn Havlan.

Hinkel Park has a playground in view of the audience in case the kiddies need to move around.

“Much Ado About Nothing” is one of Shakespeare’s most-loved comedies, revolving around two couples, Hero and Claudio and Beatrice and Benedick, who seek true love despite the machinations of the villain Don John via “Nothing” (rumor, innuendo, gossip), but with the help of the intrepid neighborhood watch, led by the hapless Dogberry.

Free-of-charge, reservations are encouraged (especially for those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility) but not necessary. Join a Shakespeare play in a beautiful setting. Have a picnic and enjoy the show – bring your own refreshments or enjoy hot dogs, veggie dogs, and corn-on-the-cob available at intermission. Pillows, blankets, and/or low lawn chairs are advised.

Plays are on Saturdays and Sundays at 4 pm from June 29 to July 14, plus a special show on Thursday, July 4th.
