Powerhouse Comic Con - 510 Families

Powerhouse Comic Con

Powerhouse Comic Con 2019 is a family-friendly pop culture and comic convention celebrating all fandoms in all their forms — from comics to movies and TV shows and everything in between.

This year’s celebrity guest lineup is headlined by Jackson Bostwick, best-known for his portrayal as the original Captain Marvel in the first season and the beginning of the second season of the Shazam! television series in 1974–75. Bostwick’s other notable credits include The Prey (1984), Psychopath (formerly, Eye for an Eye, 1973), and Tron (1982).

Jackson Bostwick will be joined by another rare guest in the Bay Area, George Lowe, a voice actor and comedian whose voice roles include Space Ghost on the animated series Space Ghost Coast to Coast and its spin-off, Cartoon Planet, as well as Jason Ybarra (Power Rangers), Ilia Volok (Power Rangers, Firefly), Jon Provost (Lassie), and professional artists with numerous Marvel and DC Comics credits under their belts: Danny Bulanadi, Chris Marrinan, and Walden Wong.

One of the program highlights this year is the Psychotronix Film Festival showing retro Sci-Fi, vintage cartoons, and weird short subjects on 16mm film. The show also features a vendor hall with toy and comic book vendors, an artist alley, video games, tabletop games, racing simulator, and a fan-favorite cosplay contest with a cash prize.
