Temple Israel of Alameda Welcomes Community to High Holy Day Services
Alameda, CA — Temple Israel of Alameda invites the community to join in observing the Jewish High Holy Days, a sacred season of reflection, renewal, and hope.
For elementary and middle school children, Temple Israel is offering a new approach this year to observing these most important holidays. For Yom Kippur, youth will be able to register for a “Day of Learning” on Sunday, September 20, followed by a short service with the “Reading of Jonah.” To help parents, Temple Israel is not holding any youth programming beyond childcare, Yom Kippur, which falls on Monday, September 21. Parents are encouraged to join their children for the service beginning at 11 am. More information is on the website.
For Rosh Hashanah, children will have the opportunity to attend a special morning of holiday activities and programming with the Director of Education, Dr. Jenn Levine, on Saturday, September 12. Taschlich is followed at the nearby lagoon with the whole community.

Donations are accepted during the registration process to help underwrite the increased costs of these very special services, including making donations per child who may need childcare. Parking is free.
