Community Music Day at Crowden School in North Berkeley

Crowden Community Music Day
Crowden Community Music Day

Every year, The Crowden School opens their door to the community for a day filled with free hands-on music experiences for children. This is one of my favorite community events, and it takes place Sunday, October 20, from 10 am to 3 pm.

The Crowden School is located on Rose Street and Sacramento Street in North Berkeley.

Here's what to expect:

Instrument Petting Zoo: This gigantic Zoo is waiting for you to try an instrument or two… or six! Try all the different instruments of the symphonic orchestra to receive a very special prize. We even have miniature violins and cellos for tiny hands and fingers!

Very First Concerts with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra: What does that little stick do! in which the role of the conductor is explained. (Repeat performances at 10:40am, 11:20am, & 12:00pm for families with kids age 0-7)

Musical performances for all ages throughout the day

Class demonstrations

Instrument making

Face painting

Music sale

Crowden School baked goods sale

BBQ and baked goods

SPECIAL PRIZE for all kids

This event is free, however, due to popular demand, free tickets to Very First Concerts will be issued at Community Music Day on a first come, first served basis.
