Date night: do you do it?

I’m not sure that we’ve ever mentioned to our 510 Families readers that we write a column on BabyCenter.com. Well, we do.

This week on BabyCenter, I talked about “date night”, a practice to which my husband and I are fairly dedicated. In fact, it is so much a part of our weekly schedule that when we were both recently sick, we were confused about how to handle Friday night. You see, we have our sitter scheduled on a permanent basis.

I’m wondering if our fellow East Bay parents are the going out type? Feel free to comment on the BabyCenter article, but I’d love to see responses down below about where you like to go on dates.

  1. We only get a once-a-month night out as a perk of our sons preschool. 4hrs just isn’t enough time to do dinner and a movie and our kid hasn’t learned to be reasonable at a restaurant so that’s what I miss most of all. We make it a dinner date. We try a different Oakland restaurant each time.

  2. Habitot Children’s Museum hosts a “Parents’ Night Out” event every 4th Friday of the month. Habitot staff provides childcare in the museum while parents enjoy an evening out. The hours are 530-930pm and the next one coming up is Friday, April 22nd. Call Lydia to reserve, as space is limited, 510-647-1111, ext. 14.
