Fort Mason Flix at Fort Mason on the San Francisco Bay Marina has expanded their popular, pop-up drive-in movies showing family favorites like Frozen and Spider-Man, as well as retro cult throwback movies like Labyrinth and Purple Rain with two showings per day six days a week. Hooray! Very cool to note this is the first-ever drive-in the city has ever had, even if it’s only temporary.
Mega bonus: some showtimes start at 6pm! This is perfect for my younger crew. Their 40’ x 20’ high definition screen is ninety times brighter than a standard movie theater projector, allowing families to enjoy their favorite movie in daylight, or at least twilight, as well as after sunset.
Fort Mason Flix will be providing a safe drive-in experience with the following precautions:
- Online ticket sales
- Contactless check-in and concessions, a
- Limited capacity,
- Safe physical distance between vehicles
- Expanded cleaning and sanitation in restrooms
- PPE for all theater and security staff
