9 East Bay Restaurants with Curbside Pick-up - 510 Families

9 East Bay Restaurants with Curbside Pick-up

Local restaurants are hit very hard by both social distancing and shelter in place orders. Many wonderful East Bay restaurants are getting creative and making online ordering, curbside pickup, and delivery easier for families to enjoy terrific food AND keep their safe distance.

SAVEOURFAVES.org is a website that allows us to buy Bay Area restaurant gift cards now and use them later. Berkeleyside created an immense list of restaurants with no-touch pickup and in-house delivery! Based on guidance from local officials, restaurants are closing dine-in but are continuing to offer delivery (including no-contact delivery) and pickup. See also this epic spreadsheet that will save you.

Choosing a local restaurant supports our East Bay economy while freshening up the quarantine food options. It is a total win.

Let’s build our East Bay list of adapting curbside, no-touch restaurants together. Drop your favorites in the comments, please.

Homeroom to go, Oakland in Temescal

Homemade Oreos from Homeroom to go

This ‘Mac and Cheese with special toppings’ spot already had a thriving takeaway business, but since the eat-in option has been suspended, we’re especially grateful. Comfort-food spot Homeroom offers this takeaway drive-thru for pickups of mac ‘n’ cheese & more. My favorite has bacon and peas mixed in. The Homeroom homemade oreo is sooooo good. Do your quarantine buddies a favor, and order several.

Poulet, N Berkeley

I am a huge fan of Poulet’s chicken tamale pie. It is about six servings if you make a salad to go with it. The also sell rotisserie chicken and gourmet salads. Buy freshly made frozen soups, quiches, casseroles, and lasagnas to stock your freezer. We’re not rating these restaurants on price, but note that this is a higher-priced choice. They are launching curbside and delivery service in addition to suggesting that you call your order in so that if you come inside to pick up, you can spend less time near the counter.
Location: 1685 Shattuck Ave
Phone: 510 845-5932
Shelter In Place Hours: M-F 10-3

Summer Kitchen and Bakeshop, SE Berkeley (temporary closure until 4/3/20)

Note: Saul’s, Doña’s, and Picante stopped their curbside service the week of 3/23.
