What to expect: Music Together Online and Canta y Baila Conmigo Family Playground
The joyful, musical, magical teachers of East Bay Music Together and Canta y Baila Conmigo will lead activities for you and your whole family to sing, play, and jam along to via weekly interactive Zoom classes and livestream events. Your child will continue on their path of musical development, and importantly, you’ll be reinforcing the disposition to be a music maker and internalizing the message that music is important to your family. See individual class pages for details.
Wait!— More Screen time? Children are invited to wander, dance, join in, do their own thing, and go “in and out” of the video activities just as they do with teachers in the room. In fact, if you put the “class” on a high shelf and continue to participate as a family, your kiddo will think they are having a musical play date with you.
East Bay Music Together Online: Mixed age music class, starts July 6, 2020
Just like a your favorite Music Together in-person class, families will come together and create a musical community.
Unlike your favorite Music Together class, the joy will be made in your own home as we isolate together. Even though your teacher is on the screen, each class has been designed as an active music-making experience for little ones and their grownups. Other things you can expect:
- Online Classes where your teacher makes beautiful music and cheers on the children by name
- Instructions on how to make everyday items like dish towels, pots, and stuffies into musical props
- Downloadable music and digital songbook through the award-winning Hello Everybody app
- Bonus at-home activities to keep the music-making going throughout the week
- Invitation online community exclusively for enrolled parents
Classes are appropriate for children under 5, but the whole family is encouraged to participate.

Parents Love Music Together at Home
“After attending the zoom class with my daughter I realized that I was just so glad to have someone else running the show for a little while, and really got into singing and playing together. Thank you! We were all uplifted!” ~ A.B. , Oakland
“I cannot thank you and East Bay Music Together enough for pulling together such an impressive and inspiring online curriculum. We’ve been skeptical of distance learning and Zoom activities for our daughter P, as she’s 2.5 years old and doesn’t really grasp the concept yet. Last Sunday was our first Music Together class via Zoom. We were blown away by how well she translated the class over Zoom, not to mention how engaged P was. We loved it!
It really works to have the teacher connect with each of the kids and chat with them before the class officially starts. And, it was really fun to hear our teachers point out the unique things each kid was doing with their sticks. P and some of the kids even ‘hugged’ our teacher by hugging their screens at the end of class! We can’t wait for the next one. Thank you again for what your community has done for our families during this unpredictable and unprecedented time.” ~ M in Berkeley
