Created more than five years ago by three working moms who were struggling to get their busy kids to and from school and extracurricular activities, HopSkipDrive has grown into a proven transportation solution that enables the opportunity for all through mobility.

From Lamorinda to Walnut Creek to Benicia, HopSkipDrive offers a reliable solution that helps schools and parents get children (ages 6 and up) where they need to go — whether it be to and from school, after-school activities, appointments, birthday parties, or playdates.
Ensuring the safety of every child and every ride is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we go above and beyond in our commitment to not just meeting but exceeding industry safety standards. From sophisticated technology that tracks every ride to the always-on Safe Ride Support system to our 15-point driver certification process and our COVID-Safe Ride Standards, we’re leading the way by implementing first-in-market procedures to promote the safety and health of everyone who uses the HopSkipDrive platform.
Why Become a HopSkipDrive CareDriver?
Never has the work we do at HopSkipDrive been so necessary. School districts nationwide are grappling with bus driver shortages, leaving more and more students — including many in the Bay Area — in need of help getting to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities.

In addition, you could earn up to $50/hour* during HopSkipDrive’s Back to School Earnings Guarantee, which guarantees that drivers will earn $1,000 for 25 completed trips by September 30, 2021.
Applying to become a CareDriver is easy!
To become a HopSkipDrive CareDriver, you must:
- Have at least 5 years of caregiving experience (parenting, counseling, teaching all count!)
- Be at least 23 years old
- Have a good driving record
- Own or have access to a 4-door vehicle no more than 10 years old
- Undergo a multi-agency background check, including fingerprinting
