Art & Science of Pinball at Chabot
Chabot Space & Science Center is hosting a fantastic-looking exhibit about pinball machines from July 1 through September 25, 2017. Learn more >
Focused on the art, science, design, engineering, sound, and other intricacies of 200 years of pinball machines, you and your kids are sure to be impressed. Co-curated by Michael Schiess and Melissa Harmon of the Pacific Pinball Museum in Alameda, the Art and Science of Pinball careens from simple precursors of the game to electronic games.
My family saw the traveling exhibit while it was on display at the San Mateo Maker Faire, and we couldn't tear ourselves away. It was amazing.
The Chabot exhibit features 35 different machines with interactive elements, see-through machines, and modeling games. The pinball exhibit promises to de-mystify how the machines work, but I suspect you'll leave even more fascinated than when you arrived.
See it for yourself before September 24.
