Once per month from July through October, families can enjoy kid-friendly movies and thematic outdoor activities at the Chase Center’s Thrive City plaza — and be home in time for bed. In addition to superfun movies, there will be a kid zone to rival any other summer carnival. Activities include games, crafts, and body art stations.
But for real, how fun would it be to watch the new Space Jam at the home of the Warriors?!
Fun Fact: The Thrive City video board is really The Big Screen. This giant measures 74 feet wide and 42 feet tall, covers 3,108 square feet, and has a total of nearly 2.2 million pixels.
The fun starts at 3 pm with the movie beginning before dark. Each evening also features guest giveaways, and snacks. There’s lots more to do right around the Chase Center, too.

Plan your visit to Blankets & Blockbusters at the Chase Center
Thrive City is part of the outdoor plaza area surrounding the home of the Golden State Warriors, Chase Center in San Francisco. If you find the arena, you’ll find the giant screen and outdoor seating for the movie.
Location: 1 Warriors Way, San Francisco
Getting there: Public transportation is highly recommended to get to Thrive City. There is no specific parking garage space reserved, so if you drive, you’ll want to snag neighborhood parking.

- All movies are free to enjoy but RSVP is strongly recommended.
- BYO Blankets.
- Popcorn will be available for free.
- Bring snacks or plan to purchase some. There are many family-friendly food options if you buy hearty snacks or dinner. My kids love the shakes at Gott’s but I make them share (with me and each other).
