How to Play the Oakland Parks Challenge

You can compete on your own or in a team with your friends or family at your own pace. Missions will be oriented around family play and discovery — think, “Perform a dramatic reading at random from your favorite book from the pergola at Lake Merritt” or “Collect 10 acorns from underneath the oak trees” or “Build the world’s best stick fort under the redwoods.” Whether you get to each of Oakland’s 130 parks over the course of the Parks Challenge or only get to a few of them, we LOVE the spirit of this adventure. Children of any age can enjoy this game, but you’ll need to lead the adventure for little ones.
