Spotlight on Prospect Sierra’s Summer Program (2023)

We know that planning summer can be daunting, but we have you covered.

Today we’ll take a look at the Prospect Sierra Summer Program, our partner on this post. Read on to learn about this incredible summer day program for rising kindergartners through 8th graders.

Having run the Prospect Sierra Summer Program for two years with much success (ie, happy kids, happy families!), the folks at Prospect Sierra are thrilled to announce the expansion of the program for Summer 2023.

What to expect at the Prospect Sierra Summer Program

Students enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities while exploring core subjects like literature, mathematics, writing, science, engineering, history, and even music and language. They also dive into outdoor play, movement, exploration, physical education, and mindfulness.

Prospect Sierra summer programs utilize both of their El Cerrito campuses which are home to big, open, grassy spaces and innovative classrooms that inspire exploration, movement, and summer fun.

Last year’s programs featured hands-on projects such as lifesize class painting, transportive walks through a glowing galaxy, papier-mache seed pod keepsakes, and homemade bread making! There were outdoor adventures in neighboring Canyon Trail Park, magician and yoga guest experts, a colorful obstacle course, make-believe cities built with large foam blocks, age-old classics such as kickball, and more!

Enrollment begins in late January. Learn more now >

All age-appropriate activities are dreamed up by trusted summer teachers and vetted by Prospect Sierra leadership. They use approaches such as project-based learning (PBL) to motivate students and make learning highly enjoyable.
