Over on our other blog, RookieMoms.com, we are working on a program of 52 weekly challenges for new moms to help them have more fun and get out of the house. The tenth weekly challenge is to plan on Mom’s Night Out for yourself and some friends. Over the weekend, we did just that, but on a larger scale.
Our first {510} Mom’s Night Out was sponsored by Aveda and hosted at their Fourth Street store in Berkeley. Our guests recieved makeovers, neck and shoulder massages, product tips and a little goody bag to take home. We served wine (complements of the new brand Mommy Juice, found at Target) and snacks.
As silly as some of us felt having a full face of make-up put on for a Sunday night, I think everyone enjoyed it. The staff at Aveda are wonderful. El Cerrito mom Sunny McKay said, “They made it relevant to me.”
Did you know you can go in there and get pampered any time? They offer hand massages and aromatherapy sessions to clients whenever things are quiet in the store. (Great summer bucket list item for new moms who need a little pick-me-up!)
It was so much fun, we definitely want to have another “live” event. Local businesses, are you listening? Invite us in!
P.S. Go into your local Aveda store location, mention the secret word “11Summer” and receive a free Aveda sample.
