20-ish Places to Shop Local While You Stay at Home

Wondering how to shop local and support our wonderful small businesses without violating the COVID-19 shelter in place orders? We were, too! With your help, we’re working to expand our list of places we can support from our couches in our jammies. We also have a list of activity providers that have gone virtual.

Keep your money in our community when possible. It makes a real difference. Please leave more ideas in the comments.

  1. Please give a shout out to Books on B in downtown Hayward! Renee is open daily from 10 am to 2pm to take your orders over the phone and for you to pick up orders in person if you feel comfortable (no browsing permitted unfortunately.). You can also communicate by email or voicemail. She even drops off local orders in town.

  2. Nicole George-O'Brien

Walden Pond books on Grand Ave. in Oakland is taking phone orders. You can pick up or they can deliver! They’re wonderful and could use your business.
