Strawberry picking at Swanton Farm - 510 Families

Strawberry picking at Swanton Farm

Vivian took a recent family outing to pick at Swanton Berry Farm — open yearround — and offered to share the highlights with us.

The kids had fun picking fresh organic strawberries. The strawberries were some of the sweetest and juiciest I've ever had. The view from the farm is magnificent, with the Pacific Ocean as its backdrop. After paying for a container, the strawberries we picked on the honor system. Once we had our baskets brimming with berries to take home (and only a few in our mouths), we enjoyed fresh baked berry pie at the cafe.

The decor of the cafe was colorful, relaxing, and inviting. It sure is a cute place to rest after the “hard” work! There were blocks for small children; games for big kids; and coffee for the adults.

The Swanton Farm jam tasting station was another add-on to the fun day. It has so many berry jams you can taste including tayberry, loganberry, olallieberry, strawberry, and blackberry along with some combinations!
