A Maker Faire is about celebrating learning and doing – not the finished and perfect end product. It’s a place to share what we’re learning with others, and celebrate the fun and freedom of being an amateur.
Located at the Park Day School in Oakland and expanding into the Studio One Art Center, this not-so-mini meet up of makers will take place on Sunday October 19 from 10 AM to 4 PM rain or shine (but probably shine).
We’ve been attending this EBMMF since it’s inaugural run in 2010. It is a super fun family event for all things hands-on. Please look for us and say hello.
Last year, we partnered with Giant Cardboard Robot (GCR) for fun photo opps and wore giant cardboard robot suits and got silly. Before that the whole Kids’ Activity room was sponsored by 510Families.com. Three years ago, I brought along my 6-week old baby, and we shared a table with Sticky Art Lab where we enabled kids to make necklaces out of bottle caps. What will we do this year?! Something fantastic, I’m sure.
Four years ago, it was pouring rain, but folks still came out to see all the bicycle rides, handmade crafts, and cape-making stations.
