Where to donate diapers in the East Bay

Based in Oakland, Help A Mother Out is a non-profit dedicated to getting diapers to families in need.

A mom who is struggling to provide the basic necessities for her children might be forced to make her diapers stretch longer than they should. When the cost of food and housing is expensive, diapers, not usually covered by WIC or handed out at shelters, are tough to come by. Donating diapers is an easy and effective way to relieve a bit of the burden of poverty on babies.

  1. is there anyplace that will take opened packages of diapers or lose ones? my toddler hasn’t used diapers for a while, but we’ve got about 50-60 in a basket somewhere. it would be nice to find someone that could use them.

  2. The Berkeley Women’s Daytime Shelter will take open packages. They are always looking for diapers (especially larger sizes). They will take pull-ups too.
